The MTEA will be offering Professional Development workshops this school term, 2017_2018. They are listed individually. You may register for one or all the workshops using Eventbrite. Just follow the REGISTER HERE link after each description. For each workshop, you will receive 2 professional development hours. Each workshop should be uploaded to MLP along with a copy of the certificate earned at the completion of each workshop.

The focus of this session is upon demonstrating the process of determining what practice looks like for every level of the teacher evaluation rubric. Attendees will be able to then turnkey this practice in an effort to clarify the more subjective aspects of the teacher evaluation process.

This workshop is an overview of the steps to retirement. Sarah Geiger from NJEA will review the retirement packet so members are aware of the process for retirement. This workshop typically lasts at least two hours.
This workshop is open to MTEA members only. Spouses are not permitted unless the spouse is an MTEA member.

LGBTrans Understanding Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual& Transgender issues in Education.

Recent changes in society and the law make it necessary for educators to have an increased understanding of gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender students, families and colleagues.This learning experience will introduce participants to issues relevant in the lives of LGBT students and families with a particular focus on school policy for transgender students.
